Infopark is all set to launch a special vaccination drive for IT employees in Kochi and their family members on Monday (June 21). Employees of various companies operating in various park campuses and their family members will be administered the jabs in the camp in a phased manner. The camp is slated to be held as part of state wide campaign with the objective of bringing the IT sector back to normalcy, creating safer workplaces and ensuring employee healthcare. 6000 people will be vaccinated in the first phase of the week-long camp at the Infopark and more jabs will be distributed as per requirement in next phases.
“We are determined to bring the IT sector back to normal as quickly as possible and have gone a long way with the launch of vaccination. The effective health care mechanism in the state has helped the sector to bounce back. The drive by the Inforpark will be a short in the arm and would cover more IT workforce in coming days,” said CEO John M Thomas
The camp is organized in collaboration with the Technopark Employees Cooperative (TEC) Hospital, Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram. The hospital has procured two lakh jabs of Covishield vaccine directly from the Serum Institute, Pune for this project. The first batch of 25,000 doses reached Thiruvananthapuram last week.
So far, 8,000 people at Infopark have been administered jabs at vaccination camps conducted by various companies including majors such as TCS in association with private hospitals. The vaccine will soon be available to all IT employees, with Infopark launching a large-scale vaccination camp for more companies from Monday. Trans Asia Cyberpark has also vaccinated 3,000 people of various companies. The park authorities have fast-tracked various initiatives to bring the IT sector and work environment back to normal.
