AIC Nalanda organizes D2C Community Take-off Meetup Series

In past 4 years, a major change was witnessed in the Indian consumer and that is purchasing directly from the Brand.  India’s D2C Market and Brands are evolving and few big e-commerce presences has been replaced by direct-to-consumer or D2C operations by legacy and new-age players in India.  This is a huge market opportunity for D2C Startups and the robust ecosystem is necessary to support them as well.

Through D2C Community Take-off Meetup Series, AIC-Nalanda aims to understand the D2C landscape in Odisha, the pain points of the D2C startups and thereby, how we can support them better and position their brand in the Nation’s Startup ecosystem.

Startups who will participate in this Meetup Series will be able to meet and learn from peers, well-known D2C brands as well as the mentors from the D2C domain across India. The newbie startups in D2C domain will be able to extract most out of it.

With this initiative, Odisha’s first ever D2C Startup Community will be built by AIC-Nalanda. Also, this will strengthen the AIC-Nalanda’s ecosystem presence in Odisha.

As of now, 2 meetups have been held. The first meetup was about “Understanding D2C Landscape” where Mentor Shruti Agarwal, the Founding Member of D2C Insider, spoke on advantages of community-building and the benefits of having digital presence for a D2C brand. At the second meetup on “Building Your Own Brand”, Mentor Sanu Ratho, Founder of Prelude & Editor of MyCityLinks,  emphasized on how perseverant an entrepreneur should be while building his own brand and consider each failure as a part of the learning curve.
