First-quarter update from X-PM

Undoubtedly 2020 was a challenging year for everyone and we have seen many dynamics at play in the workforce market. Headcount reductions, reduced or no spend on external consultants, projects put on hold, and increased pressure on hiring and costs.

As we move into 2021 we are seeing a more positive shift in the market. Companies are hiring, projects are restarting and the contract workforce is being brought in by companies to augment its headcount and use variable costing as opposed to fixed.

X-PM is in a unique position in the region. Our pool of executive interim managers is contracted to clients to fix critical issues and plug management gaps, while not putting a fixed headcount onto their books. In the first quarter of 2021, we have been asked to supply interim CFO’s, provide a procurement transformation executive for a mining operation, help transform a waste management business and ensure business continuity for procurement operations in a pharmaceutical company.

Unlike the typical contract market providers, X-PM managers are very experienced, vetted, and supported during their tenure with a company.

The results we deliver are exemplary and we feel the trend to hire experienced managers to fix a problem or deliver a solution will continue.
