Mental Health problems have become a common concern. Recently, a study suggested that 1 in every 4 people has faced mental health problems in the last 1 year.

An increasing number of people are facing problems like anxiety and depression due to multiple factors.

When Sakshi Shah and Lawrance Lovedeep, the co-founders of GoodLives, observed individuals struggling with emotional challenges during their own life journeys, they decided to help people and provide them with the right help.

In some way or another, stress has ingrained itself into our daily lives.

Most of us want to handle it all by ourselves and due to this hesitation, many face challenges in seeking help for mental health problems.

Many people suffer in silence and are unable to express their sentiments clearly. They can’t locate the right help at the right time and in the right manner.

These IIT Kharagpur Alumni are leaving no stone unturned to help people. GoodLives aims to assist anyone who is having trouble finding the right guidance for maintaining good mental health. They help people by matching them to the right therapist. The motto of GoodLives is to make mental health services ‘affordable’ and ‘accessible’ across the globe. As the name says, GoodLives is all about making lives happier.

This bootstrapped startup is working towards eliminating the stigma against therapy and creating awareness about mental health. A dedicated team aids in starting the discussion about emotional wellness and offers therapeutic support from trained professionals with years of expertise.

Their efforts are in multiple directions. They are not only providing open forum discussions with the therapists every week, but they also collaborate with various influencers to increase awareness.

Recently, volunteers from this startup invited people for a conversation in Bengaluru and Delhi. People from different walks of life showed up to talk about depression, anxiety, and much more. They shared their stories, struggles, and life journeys. These campaigns were a part of a bigger campaign to spread awareness and were a huge success. The aim has been to tell people that it is okay to talk about their fears, problems, and even trauma.

GoodLives also has a podcast series about mental health and well-being by the name of ‘Mental Blossoms’. It focuses on people sharing their journey with therapy. It features interviews with mental health professionals who discuss how to combat mental health issues. The podcast can be accessed here: https://soundcloud.com/goodlives_in

While many individuals find social media to be stressful, particularly college students and young adults, GoodLives is using social media as a powerful tool to raise awareness about mental health. Through collaboration with numerous individuals who genuinely wish to assist others, they have made an impact! They host a variety of webinars where they not only emphasize how crucial stress management is in these unprecedented times but also offer suggestions for coping with it. They are collaborating with influencers like Deepika Joshi, Sonal Arora, Jhilmil Saha, and many others to broaden their audience.

In one of their campaigns in May 2021, this mental health service for all provided free therapy for relieving Covid related anxiety. This was a noble pursuit to help as many people as possible. Good Lives believes that when everything around us is bleak, we must have the emotional fortitude to persevere in order to get through the crisis. With the times changing, these services will stand to be the foundation of our society and this organization seeks to pioneer the same so that people can have better and healthier lives in the future.

Sakshi Shah and Lawrance Lovedeep, the company’s co-founders, have made it their mission to make people’s lives easier with GoodLives. They seek to normalize therapy on par with visiting a doctor in order to remove the stigma associated with it. The GoodLives team firmly believes that everyone should pay more attention to their mental health since everyone deserves to live a good life!
