Biswajit Paul formed a registered startup under the “Make in India” scheme. Quickbooks is rejuvenating the health-care infra of India’s north-eastern states.

Most Indians in rural areas of the country have little access to healthcare facilities and must travel long distances without the assurance of meeting a medical practitioner. Adding value to the lives of those around you is probably the most satisfying thing a person can do, and that is exactly what Biswajit Paul did when he created QuickBooks, a healthcare-related startup company.

When Biswajit returned to Silchar after his mother died, he was taken away by the state of healthcare in his hometown.

Biswajit’s observation of a lack of basic facilities, a dearth of doctors, and a lack of medical infrastructure inspired the creation of QuickObook.

The programme combines all you need to know about medical health.

Not only can you arrange an appointment, but you can also read reviews about these providers and get your medications with the push of a button.

The app helps you to log your appointments so you don’t have to stand in the queue while your body is in pain.

QuickObook’s QOB Connect archives a patient’s medical history, as well as test results and prescriptions, for future reference, making it easier for a doctor to diagnose problems in advance and provide better treatment.

The most noticeable fact is that QuickObook can be accessed by persons who do not have smartphones.

The team chooses larger drug stores or general stores in smaller clusters and partners with them through their Franchise Model, and these stores make bookings and order drugs for a low fee.

This strategy makes the app more accessible while also saving the lives of those who do not have the same privileges.

The first eight months after he started in 2016 were difficult because no appointments were scheduled using the programme, but the last three months proved to be the deciding element in QuickObook’s fate.

In their first year, the crew booked over 1000 appointments, and they haven’t looked back since.

Biswajit attributes this success to his co-founder Jewel Sen and the rest of his team.

Not only that, but QuickObook is a registered start-up firm under the Centre’s “Make in India” initiative, with over 1,200 doctors engaged across the Barak Valley and other north-eastern states, and has already touched the lives of over 3.2 lakh patients.

It has already secured Rs 50 lakhs in initial investment from the Assam government through the My Assam Start-up ID programme.

Biswajit Paul’s startup has already expanded its wings throughout three states and fifteen districts. He  intends to develop throughout the entire North East.

They have also received a one crore seed fund.

The company is also developing revenue-sharing partnership options for newer cities.
