Sai Silks Kalamandir Ltd. (SSKL), founded by first-generation entrepreneur and techie Durga Prasad Chalavadi, is one of the largest retailers of ethnic clothing, mainly sarees, in south India and focuses on ultra-premium and premium sarees for weddings, party wear and everyday use. SSKL has grown from a single store in 2005 to 54 stores with a total floor area of about 6,03,414 square feet.
SSKL operates through four different format stores, namely Kalamandir, Mandir, Varamahalakshmi Silks, and KLM Fashion Mall, as well as through e-commerce channels that include their own websites and other online e-commerce marketplaces.
