Mumbai, Maharashtra [India]: In a date and time, when nepotism is an order of the day and all young aspiring actors and star kids get their fathers to launch them or use their father’s contacts to land a big break, Siddhant Issar, son of a veteran and legendary actor Puneet Issar has done something different.
Siddhant has directed his father in his latest experimental feature of 50-min short film “Sanghaar – The Massacre”. He says, “It was a great experience directing dad. I have broken his age-old mould of Duryodhan. He will be seen as a Sage in this film, a never-seen-before avatar for him. His acting, look, style, and everything else in this film will be fresh. I have done stage with him as an actor and I have learned so much from him, directing him for the first time is an honour.”
“I have also made him rap in a song which was something entirely new for him. His Rap in the title track of our film is a highlight. The title song has been sung by the legendary Kailash Kher sir. When I went to Kailash sir with the concept of Sanghaar The Massacre and told him it will be a film upholding intrinsic values of Sanatan Dharma and Condemn acts such as violence against peaceful sages and saints, and also oppose animal cruelty, especially Cow Slaughter, he was very touched. He had tears in his eyes and was bowled over that someone as you took up this initiative,” he adds.
“He generally charges 15 to 25 lakhs for a song. He sang my title track only for a shagun of 11 Rupees. He liked my film and believed in my vision. I am thoroughly grateful to Kailash Kher sir for this gesture. I am blessed that at such a young age, I got a chance to work with such seniors,” he concludes.
