Wipro launches Wipro ai360, commits $1 billion investment in AI

Wipro has introduced Wipro ai360, an all-encompassing innovation ecosystem centered around AI. The company plans to integrate AI into every internal platform, tool, and solution, as well as offer AI-driven capabilities to its clients. Alongside this initiative, Wipro has committed to investing $1 billion over the next three years to enhance its AI capabilities.

Bringing Together Experts for AI Advancement

Wipro ai360 aims to unite Wipro’s 30,000 data analytics and AI experts from its global business lines within the company’s technology and advisory ecosystem. This integration is anticipated to unlock new value, productivity, and commercial opportunities for the organization.

Focusing on Responsible AI Operations

Wipro’s CEO and MD, Thierry Delaporte, highlighted the rapid progress of AI and the potential transformative impact of generative AI. He emphasized that Wipro ai360 prioritizes responsible AI operations to empower its talent pool, permeating all operations, processes, and client solutions. Delaporte expressed Wipro’s readiness for an AI-driven future.

Leveraging Capabilities for AI Integration

To embed AI into its business processes, Wipro will leverage capabilities across various domains, including cloud and partnerships, data analytics and AI, design and consulting, and cybersecurity. This new business model is expected to enhance delivery agility, speed, and depth, solidifying Wipro’s position in the market.

Training Employees and Support for Startups

Wipro plans to train all of its employees on AI fundamentals and applications within the next year. Additionally, the company announced its commitment to supporting tech startups through its accelerator program, Wipro Ventures. Moreover, Wipro will launch the GenAI Seed Accelerator program to provide market-ready training to startups utilizing GenAI.

Wipro’s focus on AI adoption is evident in its recent activities. In December 2022, the company acquired AI startup LineCraft, aiming to strengthen its AI capabilities. Furthermore, Wipro’s consumer care vertical made investments in D2C startups LetsShave and SoulFlower in 2022 and 2021, respectively. These initiatives underscore Wipro’s commitment to advancing AI and its broader technological ecosystem.
