Anant Tanted is the Founder and CEO of The Indian Garage Co., one of India’s leading homegrown fast-fashion D2C brands. Born and raised in Kolkata, Anant hails from a family of garment manufacturers, which inspired him to pursue a career in the fashion industry.

A veteran in the fashion industry with over 17 years of experience, Anant started his journey in college by exhibiting surplus branded garments. To gain further technical expertise, Anant worked with one of India’s leading apparel manufacturers for 2 years, where he gained invaluable production and fabric knowledge.

In 2011, Anant started TIGC after realizing that there was a gap in the value fashion market for menswear in India. With the vision to democratize fashion and make it accessible to all, Anant has built a homegrown brand over the years that is inclusive, affordable, and on par with international fashion standards.

With a strong sense of national pride and a deep understanding of the potential of Indian products, Anant has driven innovation and growth in the Indian fashion ecosystem by supporting many local entrepreneurs across the country. TIGC follows an entrepreneurial model of manufacturing that allows the brand to source products from micro-entrepreneurs, encouraging their efforts and promoting the Make in India initiative.

Anant’s valuable industry insights and business acumen have enabled him to take TIGC to new heights. Today, the brand is ranked among the top 10 highest-selling fashion brands in Myntra and No.1 among external brands on Ajio.

Under his leadership, TIGC has grown into a 350 crore business in terms of GMV, selling 5–6 lakh units a month. The brand has garnered widespread recognition for its unique offerings and commitment to quality and affordability.

TIGC is one of India’s leading homegrown fast-fashion D2C men’s wear brands, established by Anant Tanted in 2011. One of the first brands to be launched from the house of The Indian Garage Co., TIGC promises its customers a vast array of global fashion trends, inspired by Gen Z, at an unprecedented pace.

Known for being fashion-forward and experimental by nature, TIGC caters to the needs of all age groups. The Indian Garage Company has been the go-to brand for fashion aficionados who seek to experiment with their style and want to stand out from the crowd. The brand’s distinctive product portfolio includes over 2,500 styles across men’s casualwear and sportswear, including trendy shirts and chinos, which are the most popular among youth and Gen Z. TIGC has organically grown into a 350 crore business in terms of GMV and aims to double its profit by the end of next year. TIGC has tapped into new categories like footwear and also marked new heights by foraying into women’s wear and plus-sized fashion through the House of Brands format. TIGC plans to expand further in India, both online and offline, and introduce the brand overseas, starting in the Middle East.
