Zomato CEO Celebrates Friendship Day with Special Deliveries

On Friendship Day, Zomato’s CEO, Deepinder Goyal, embarked on a heartwarming endeavor, delivering friendship bands and food personally to various delivery partners, restaurant affiliates, and customers. Goyal rode his Royal Enfield bike to make these special deliveries, which he described as the “best Sunday ever.”

Sharing his excitement for both friendship and good food, Goyal took to Twitter to post pictures of the unique “best food friends forever” bands that he distributed.

The gesture of appreciation comes in the wake of Zomato’s recent achievement of posting its first-ever profit since its establishment in 2008. The foodtech giant announced a net profit of Rs 2 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal year, marking a significant milestone in the company’s journey.

In line with its competitor Swiggy, Zomato is planning to introduce a “platform fee” of Rs 2 per order. This flat fee will be irrespective of the order value and is currently being tested with select users. Notably, the fee has not been implemented on Blinkit, Zomato’s quick-commerce platform. In a pop-up notification, Zomato clarified that the fee is a “small charge that helps us pay the bills so that we can keep Zomato running.”

As Zomato continues to grow and innovate, the CEO’s personal touch on Friendship Day showcases the company’s commitment to fostering meaningful connections with its stakeholders while celebrating its recent financial success.
